Template Updates

The following templates were updated for fall 2010 NSSRS reporting purposes: STUDENT, STUDENT_SNAPSHOT, STUDENT_SUMMARY_ATTENDANCE, SCHOOL_ENROLLMENT, SPECIAL_EDUCATION_SNAPSHOT.

Edit School Data

Any grade zero group (KA, KB, KC, KD, KG, HK, EC) may be designated as one of the following: Pre Kindergarten, Kindergarten Program of less than 1032 program hours, Kindergarten Program of 1032 or more program hours. These designations affect the grade levels reported in the following templates: STUDENT, STUDENT_SNAPSHOT, STUDENT_SUMMARY_ATTENDANCE, SCHOOL_ENROLLMENT.

The following field was added to the Edit Student Data screen Special Ed tab: Alternative Assessment.

New fields - ELL-LEP

The following fields were added to the Edit Student Data screen ELL-LEP tab: LEP Participation, LEP Eligibility, Redesignated as English Fluent. These items were modified, renamed, or replaced older items to better fit NSSRS reporting.

Some code tables were updated for ISES-WSLS reporting compliance.

Edit Course Data

CWCS Course Code field is available for entering course codes necessary for the pending Coursework Completion System submissions. The CWCS Course Code and associated section IDs are intended as important links for the CWCS Student file and CWCS Courses and Teachers file. JMC will be providing options for capturing these files in future releases.

Direct Certification

A minor update was made to the Direct Certification import process to ensure better name matching.

E-Transcript

The NCES Course Code is included in transcript records for 2007-2008 & 2008-2009.

Online Software - MN

IP GradeBook Test Score Query

The test score query from the IP GradeBook has been updated so that it can include any MCA and BST test scores or subscores. No IP GradeBook update is necessary for this update.

A minor sorting issue was fixed that in rare cases caused subject areas to be duplicated in some menus.

Several new teacher demographic fields have been added, including File Folder Number, Last Name and First Name (separate from Display Name), and an editable Teacher ID. Data from these fields are now included (or optionally included in some cases) in various captures for state reporting and testing purposes, such as the NWEA CRF export.

NWEA CRF file

The option to generate the NWEA CRF files has been updated. A new option allows the user to specify which teacher ID field to include. Options include: JMC Teacher Number, Teacher ID, and File Folder Number. The Teacher ID and File Folder Number are new fields that are editable on Attendance - Staff - Teachers/Stations.

An option to generate the NWEA SPF file has been added. Special programs included at this time are: ELL, Free & Reduced Lunch, Gifted & Talented, Title I (MN), and Grade Zero Groups.

A new grade level option for adults has been added for designating an individual as an adult for lunch accounting and other purposes.

E-Transcripts may now be generated via this option - look for a button labeled IA E-Transcripts. XML files generated using this option may then be uploaded to the Iowa Transcript Center (ITC) for distribution.

New Iowa-specific fields

New fields have been added to the Edit Student Data screen and tabs for CPR Course Completion, Reason No State Reporting Reading/Math/Science, and 6 Preschool Funding designations. Also, fields associated with preschool students have been moved to a separate screen that can be accessed via a button to the right of the grade zero group menu.

Enrollment History

Enrollment history has been updated with new, revised, and renamed fields. New fields are Service/Facility Type, CPI Dual Enrollment, Nonpublic School Number, Accountable District. The Received Educational Services field was changed from a checkbox to a menu to accommodate new options for this field. The field formerly known as Residential Facility has been changed to Service Provider / Facility.

Import Course Data from a Prior Year

This option is intended as a one-time one-year option to import the following fields from 09-10 Transcript Courses into the 10-11 Course Directory file: Course Origination, Institution Providing Course, Accreditation Program Area. This option with assist schools with the transitioning of these fields from the Edit Transcript Courses screen to the Edit Course Data screen.

Bring Up To Date

Fields that have migrated to Edit Course Data from Edit Transcript Courses (Course Origination, Institution Providing Course, Accreditation Program Area) as well as the SCED code will be updated during the Bring Up To Date process beginning with the 2010-2011 transcript year in a way that is consistent with other transcript course fields.

Edit Transcript Courses

The Edit Transcript Courses screen has a new version beginning with the 2009-2010 transcript year. This new version includes the SCED code, which is editable on this screen for transfer courses. This effectively retires the NCES Course Code fields as of this update for transcript years starting with 2009-2010.

MARSS - SERVS Student

Academic Progress Report

The SERVS Student APR report has been revised to allow schools that do not use the JMC Schedules and Grades modules to generate this file for uploading.

Reasons - Select/Deselect All

User interface has been improved in several reports (Lists, Period Attendance Report for a Student, Period Attendance Absent/Tardy Check) where period attendance reasons are specified.

Several new combination vaccines have been added to the list of immunizations. Look for related report changes in future releases of the JMC Office Application.
